Star Wars: The Clone Wars will have a season 6

Nerdgasms across the globe went off today as Dave Filoni, Supervising Director on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, announced via Facebook that season six would be released!

That's right Clone Wars fans 22 steaming hot off the press episodes which will wrap up the Ahsoka Tano story-arc and finally move Anakin into position to fit into the final moments of his life as a Jedi in 'Revenge of the Sith'.

Also we'll finally get to see more of the story surrounding that awesome teaser scene that was shown to us where one of the Clones suddenly taps into his sleeper agent orders and guns down a Jedi. 

Here was what Filoni had to say:

"Star Wars fans - I have some exciting news! We have wrapped production on all of the remaining Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, and while that might be sad news in one way, it's good news in another. It means you will finally get to see them. When, exactly, is a detail I cannot yet share. I can confirm that in early 2014 you will be watching the final episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, including one of Master Yoda's most challenging missions. So, get ready. We've got Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels coming at you in 2014. Animated Star Wars is alive and well. Trust in the Force my friends.

- Dave"

So there you have it Clone Wars fans, we will finally get to see our beloved series come to the proper close that it fully deserves. It seems that Disney is not the power-hungry, nasty tyrant that we once thought it was.

...okay it still is all that stuff, but CLONE WARS!

No word yet on whether the final season will be broadcast on Disney XD or released via streaming online, but either way we will be seeing it in 2014.

Also we'll have Star Wars Rebels to look forward to keep us all entertained until the much awaited Episode VII hits theaters in 2015.

Original Star Wars teaser trailer shows a humble beginning

Back in the 1970's George Lucas was fresh on the scene still and having just come out of his success with American Graffiti, Lucas decided it was time to take his next film out of old Americana and into the stars.

Because your next logical step from making your first popular film is to basically jump to something completely different than what got you noticed in the first place.

But it worked.

On the verge of a possible new teaser coming out for Star Wars Episode VII, the very first teaser ever released for Star Wars: A New Hope has been released.

It has a cheeseball 70's feel that mixes in with Alien, The Black Hole and possibly Tron. You even have the dude who sounds like he'd probably be a huge buzzkill at a party with a voice like that.

Now this teaser was actually released before a lot of the proper edits had been completed and the special effects like colour in the light sabers (yes your eyes aren't fooling you, they are totally white in this teaser), so it looks super low budget.

Not to mention the lighting is terrible and its grainy as hell, not like our digital, super hi-def, max sound films we're used to today, with glitzy big-name stars and fancy lifelike special effects.

When you watch this teaser you wonder, how did this become a series of films, cartoons, video games, toys, merchandise and novels.

How did this little film that looks so cheesy, so 70's, turn into one of the largest franchises, so big that it spawned five more films over the next three decades with at least five more on the way and even helped created some of the film and stereo technology still used today.

It's almost a humbling experience to sit and watch this small clip and realize that great things come from very small beginnings, and imagination has the power to create anything.

It also takes us back to a time when movies were more about the experience, the journey, it wasn't about the hipster attitude of who is or should be in this, and how your favourite story line should have been portrayed, how the filmmaker or writer screwed it all up.

We went to the movies to go on an adventure that we couldn't take in our real lives, we put ourselves in the hands of the directors, actors, editors, and we were taken to magical places we could never have dreamed of.

When those lights went down your excitement and anticipation went up and for just over an hour, your life changed forever.

Supernatural Season 9: One Hell of a ride ahead

"Did I ever tell you...you hit like an angel?"

Hello witty repartee, welcome back complex story line and plot, I've missed you brotherhood.

Supernatural Season nine has kicked off and it has kicked off with a series kick in the ass, as Dean might put it.

This should come as no surprise that there are definitely spoilers after this very sentence.

When we last left Sam and Dean they were watching as Angels fell from the sky after Metatron ejected them from Heaven.

Now we've caught up with the brothers to find that Sam is in a coma, damaged badly from the spell he was tricked into doing by Metatron through Castiel, and is at Death's door (literally), and Dean is desperately looking for help from any stray Angel that might hear his plea.

Although the Angels aren't out to help the Winchesters, but rather seek revenge on their brother Castiel who was responsible from casting them from their warm and fuzzy home in Heaven.

While having a first fist encounter with one of these angry Angels, Dean is lucky enough to have Ezekiel come upon him and attempt to save him from his brother Angel's attack (although Dean ends up being the one to save Ezekiel).

The two work out a deal to save Sam by Ezekiel inhabiting Sam's body and repairing it from the inside while also healing himself as the host he has taken has left him damaged.

So Dean is left to convince Sam once again to come back to the world of the living and interrupts a meeting between Sam and Death (one of my favourite sub characters in the series).

In a very strange and ironic twist of fate Dean convinces Sam to come back from Death's clutches (many fans will remember a similar situation where Dean requested the help of Death to bring Sam's soul back from Hell's pit where he was stuck with Michael and Satan).

But Ezekiel explains to Dean that he can never tell Sam that he has been possessed by an Angel for fear of him ejecting Ezekiel and leaving them both to die once again.

So once again Dean is forced to put on a brave face and lie as Sam's memory is wiped (again the irony of the situation that was much similar to when Death had to block Sam's memories of the pit to keep him from going insane).

And now we are left with an image of what is to come. Castiel is human now, running from the Angels that want his blood, Sam and Dean are trying to find him while dealing with this new threat of Angels seeking the Winchesters to try and find the location of Castiel alongside the fact that much like when Demons would possess bodies to get to the Winchesters, there are now Angels who are floating around looking for hosts and oh yeah, they still have the King of Hell, Crowley, safely tucked away in the trunk of Dean's car.

This is going to be one amazing season of Supernatural and with the teased Chicago spin-off series being introduced first by this season, there is a lot more to look forward to.

The worst teaser ever released for 'Star Wars Rebels'

Well the first teaser for 'Star Wars Rebels' has come out and it's a huge pile of crap. Not that I expected anything more from Disney XD.

Now don't get me wrong, I have high expectations still for the series, but it seems like the production managers for Disney XD are extremely good at releasing completely underwhelming teasers and trailers for TV series.

I remember when I watched the trailer for Gravity Falls and I thought this is so stupid, but luckily I Wikipedia'd it and when I read the plot line I was dragged back in.

The trailer is posted below but I can probably save you 16 seconds of your life you'll never get back and tell you, its just an animated rehash of the first 5 minutes of Star Wars: A New Hope.

Yep its a big ship flying over the screen with the only difference being that the insignia 'Star Wars Rebels' is tacked onto the back, with the worst voice over I've ever heard. Basically this guy who sounds way too excited about this series making it sound completely cartoon-y and lame.

He also teases that the 'Jedi will rise' which doesn't make sense since I thought this series was supposed to be set between 'Revenge of the Sith' and 'A New Hope' when all the Jedi are systematically wiped out by the Empire.

In fact by the time 'A New Hope' starts we're to assume that Luke and Obi Wan are the only two Jedi left.

Disney XD had announced the release of the teaser last week and I really don't know why I expected anything more than what I received, which was a pile of nothing. Once again I'm getting more from Wikipedia than I am from the actual channel which will be airing this show.

'Star Wars Rebels' is slated for release on Disney XD in fall of 2014, may  feature some appearances by Ahsoka Tano (awesome) and is created by the team that brought us 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars', which is why I'm still going to watch the first episode.

Please don't screw this up for us Disney, we're still fragile after the loss of 'The Clone Wars'.

Avalanche Sharks: Because why not?

If you don't care about things like how can sharks swim through solid materials like snow and you know wood, then you probably will enjoy 'Avalanche Sharks'.

Following quickly on the heels of the surprisingly successful 'Sharknado' and 'Ghost Shark', comes the next SyFy shark-related film.

This time the sharks are apparently living in the mountains and can swim through snow. The also appear out of nowhere and for some reason haven't been noticed at this highly popular ski resort until one of them decides to try eating a person.

I'm not exactly sure how they breathe since snow is frozen water and therefore not able to provide oxygen, but scantily clad teens and implants so who cares right?

Here's some suggestions for SyFy from me for future movies involving sharks: Sharkellites with Sharks from Space, Time Shark with time traveling sharks, The Shark That Knew Too Much, Sharks on a Plane, Sharkie Nights, Sharkageddon with like asteroid sharks or four sharks riding horses, Sharkassic Park, Sharkmeleon, The Amazing Spider-Shark, The Sharkvengers, Shark of Steel...you get the idea.

Check out the ridiculous trailer for 'Avalanche Sharks' below. I mean even the CGI is more garbage than usual in this.

It will never make you wonder if a shark might attack you the next time you go skiing because that's not possible in any way, shape or form.

Oh and just a note, there doesn't appear to be any point where there is an avalanche in this film...which now has the title making even less sense than the movie. Snow Sharks maybe?

The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXIV 'Couch Gag' released

Guillermo del Toro, genius, creator of epic films and reviver of the remains of films of haunted past.

Now he's joined The Simpsons to create an epic Couch Gag for the ages.

The recently released opener features references from a number of famous horror, psychological thriller, fantasy and adventure films throughout time, as well as a few of his own film references sprinkled in between.

There were even a few teases to some of the projects he's working on right like 'At The Mountains of Madness' by H.P. Lovecraft.

This is one hellishly good time since Fox allowed us to create our own couch gag openers for Treehouse of Horror a few years back (I made one where the guy fell down the steps and laughed for days).

Broadchurch heads for Fox with Tennant on board

Probably one of the highest rated series on ITV since Downton Abbey (which had everyone talking like Brits for like a year), is the one season wonder (so far), Broadchurch.

And the exciting news for fans is that, not only has Fox picked up the series for remake, but David Tennant is set to reprise his role as Alec Hardy in the series.

Set in a small British town, the show revolves around detective inspector Alec Hardy's (Tennant) first time on the smaller force since he left a larger force after an unknown incident forced him to retire his position there.

Of course he steps right in it, as on his first day there is a dead child found who so happens to be the child of his partner's friends.

And basically he goes around digging up the towns secrets and causing a huge raucous amongst the little town. I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it but this town has some deep dark secrets that they'd all rather stay buried.

But the biggest secret of all comes out tied to the death of  Danny Latimer when the case is solved. Its actually so screwed up that I wonder if Fox will have the balls to have the exact same plot scenario.

Now remaking British TV series for American and Canadian viewers is nothing new, its been happening since The Office with other shows like the Netflix hit series 'House of Cards' and the Canadian continuation of 'Primeval' (the results have varied drastically as well).

But this is the first time I know of that a show is being remade from the start with the same actor more than likely playing the same role. Tennant was a master playing Detective Inspector Alec Hardy, and slowly revealing his dark past to the characters in the show and the audience watching, so it totally makes sense for Fox to want to revive his role.

This will be the first time that Fox has jumped on the band wagon of British remakes. Now a year ago I would have been surprised by this decision. However it seems that Fox Broadcasting has finally realized that the numbers are in the more well-scripted not thrown together but a drunken frat party ideas. Shows like the recently finalized Fringe and Sleepy Hollow, even Brooklyn Nine-Nine have shown a clear adaption to a more intelligent audience.

Don't get me wrong Fox still has ridiculous shows like all their reality garbage and 'Bones'. But finally the people like me who crave creativity and a plot line that actually evolves and grows instead of rehasing the same garbage every episode will get something to chew on from the network.

The Broadchurch remake is set to hit Fox in the 2014-15 season, and if Sleepy Hollow and the upcoming J.J. Abrams series 'InHuman' keep their creative grip on audiences, it looks like its going to be a good year for Fox Broadcasting.

You can check out the first season of the ITV version of Broadchurch now, either online (nefarious ways are up to you) or order the DVD set.

Season Two of ITV's Broadchurch is set to broadcast in 2014 as well.

The Goldbergs: A revisit to the beloved 80's

Stop right now, don't even think about watching The Goldbergs if you were born in the late 80's, have no appreciation for any family sitcoms like Married With Children or The Simpsons, or basically have no soul and dragged your stinking decomposing carcass from the depths of hell. You will not appreciate this show for what it is. (Okay the late 80's and beyond kids can watch, but pipe down!)

If you loved shows like The Cosby Show, ALF and especially The Wonder Years....this show is nothing like them at all.

There are no after school learning experiences here involving drugs or alcohol, no warm family moments that make you want to repeatedly throw up over and over again until you are nothing but a dehydrated husk of a person. This is pure, unadulterated 80's family. This is my family in the 80's, this is your family in the 80's.

The father is always yelling at you, the mom is freaking out over every little thing and overly controlling every moment of your life, and your sister....she's bigger than you and she beats you up (all these things literally happened to me, especially the sister thing).

The best part about this show, its based on real life scenarios that the show's creator, Adam F. Goldberg, actually filmed from his childhood in the 80's. All the characters are based off of his neurotic, overly-controlling, crazy family (with the exception that for some reason they turned his oldest brother into his sister).

While this may not reflect some of the shows of the 80's it does indeed reflect what growing up in that era was like. I'm an '83 baby, I know this to be true!

The show follows the family from September 3rd, 1985, and follows their follies and strides in life. It's like 'That 80's Show' except you know actually good and not attempting to base it's success off of a predeceasing show.

Also geek extraordinaire Patton Oswald narrates! How can you lose?

Aside from the original premise of basing a TV series about the 80's off of an actual family from the 80's, the show has some pretty good tongue-in-cheek writing and some definitive laugh out loud moments that only a truly comedic sit-com can provide.

The Goldbergs will most definitely bring you back to the world that all us who were born in the 80's and before miss, a world of possibilities, new technologies and mind blowing 8-bit!!

I look forward to the series actually going back to having Halloween and Christmas specials, just like all my old 80's favourites.

I will definitely be tuning in Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC and if you want to rekindle your love affair with the 80's I would suggest you do as well.

Robert Carlyle talks Trainspotting 2 and release

For anyone who's had an adventure diving into a grimy pub toilet or have babies walking around on your ceiling, you're probably a drugged out crazy person...or you've watched Trainspotting.

And Geeks By Day has spoken to an inside source that has stated that Trainspotting 2 will be moving ahead with production.

While speaking with Robert Carlyle, who is in Vancouver filming for the third season of Once Upon A Time,  Geeks By Day co-founder Casey Chourney confirmed with Carlyle that the film is moving towards production and that Danny Boyle is working away on the script and all actors, including Carlyle, are ready to rejoin the cast:

"Yes, yes I can confirm there is [a second film], Danny is working on the script right now and the whole cast will be back. Should be out in 2016."

The assumption is that the second film will follow the story line of Irvine Welsh's follow up novel Porno.

Fox picks up Commissioner Gordon origin story series

Yes Fox we get it, you're trying to compete with ABC with your constant terrible reality shows and both trying to play a hand at the newly hot paranormal dramas.

But really, a Batman series without Batman? I mean can anyone say 'Birds of Prey'? Please someone say it and then tell me how dirty you felt afterwards.

So Deadline dropped the news that Fox has announced they will pick up a series called Gotham, following Commissioner Jim Gordon in his 'early years', and while Batman will not be featured because, well he didn't really exist yet, there will be some major villains featured?

I smell the beginning season of Arrow. And before everyone gets up in arms about how good Arrow is, I'm talking about a major lack of added ingredient.

In Arrow it was super powers and the producers figured that out, hence the addition of Flash. Now you have Gotham city and some of its famous villains WITHOUT Batman? How the hell is anyone supposed to take these guys down if the city got so bad that someone like Batman had to be created?

From this view the series will just be about how shitty Gotham City got until Batman came along, and there's the end of your series. Or you go the Arrow route and have DC-based villains that are just watered down versions of the famous feature foes we all know and love.

Does anyone remember the old Spider-man live action series? He only ever fought cronies and never any real SUPER villains.

I feel like this is a reach, even for Warner Bros, who, let's face it, aren't doing too well in the superhero department recently anyways. Hey DC maybe you should just sell your rights to Disney as well and all the Superheroes can live in one happy universe.

I think after I said that every comic fanboy crapped themselves in rage.

As a fanboy myself I feel like the superhero hype is being forcibly moved to Television and this is how a trend dies, when execs try to force new aspects of the trend to just happen. When will you fat cats realize you don't have us all under mind control...yet. You can't force us to want to watch this dribble.

And this isn't new. There's been a number of times where studio execs have tried to force the superheroes on TV trend to happen. It's not working, you don't have the budget to bring in the big boys, and no one cares about small potatoes, at least not to have the entire spotlight on.

I'm very concerned for what they are doing with Flash as well, with the Justice League still apparently on yonder horizon, are you casting an entirely different actor for him? And at that point are you now saying that the universe you created and filled with a fanbase for Green Arrow doesn't actually exist in the universe you create for Justice League?

I'm going off on a different tangent already. Bottom line, this isn't going to work, especially with a chancy network like Fox attached which goes through one season shows like a college freshman goes through...uh...underwear. Unless by some godsend chance Gary Oldman decides he wants to slap on some make up to magically make him look 20 years younger and oh yeah move into a TV career and away from his booming film career. You know because everyone hates the idea of rolling on a pile of money naked.

Stick with CW Warner, you're much better off there, don't whore yourself out to other networks just to try to get a competitive edge on the massive cash cow that is the Disney brand.

And when Star Wars comes out none of this will matter anymore because J.J. Abrams.

Power Rangers 'dark and gritty' short film?

What started out as a good day just turned amazing.

ScreenRant recently did an interview with the reboot Mortal Kombat film director Kevin Tancharoen and its like he reached into my deepest dreams and fantasies and came out with the most amazing lump of brain goo ever.

Tancharoen wants to do a short film about the Power Rangers. Not only that, he wants to dig up the original cast and put them in a dark and gritty style short film.

I can't even begin to describe how epic this project would be.

Here's a snippet from the ScreenRant interview about Tancharoen's vision of this film:

Kevin Tancharoen: Zordon is dying and Red Ranger has to go find the Green Ranger, who’s now an MMA fighter, and the Yellow Ranger died in a car accident and they all have to reunite together. You know, just make it as dark as possible. I thought that would be really fun to do.

 Screen Rant: That’s brilliant. I think you would set the Internet on fire.

 KT: [Laughs] You open up with the Red Ranger doing MMA. I would want to go there and I think it would be a lot of fun.

If Tancharoen takes on this daunting task and not only puts it together but also makes it as amazing as I'm imagining (yes my standards are the absolutely highest of all geeks), he will be the king of geeks, king above J.J. Abrams even. You better believe I just said that.

Agent Carter the next one to receive TV Spin-off?

It seems as though Marvel has taken the very intelligent leap into the live-action Television deep end.

With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. only a week away from premiere Deadline has announced a rumor that Agent Peggy Carter (original love interest to the Cap), would be receiving her own series as well.

According to them, this series will form from a special video release attached to the Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3. Much like 'Item 47' lead to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. concept and eventual series.

The rumor continues that the show will feature how Agent Carter continues to grow in her career as a secret agent.

Ron Howard teases 'Dark Tower' series still moving forward

It seems almost fitting that directly after the season finale of the 'Under the Dome' TV adaption, Ron Howard is now dropping hints about the Dark Tower series project.

In a podcast interview with Empire, Howard spoke about the fact that the project is nowhere near dead, nor in production hell, just still milling around.

Howard spoke about the complexity of transforming the series of books into a narrative on film and how while Stephen King seemed to have faith in them, he also agreed it was quite a task to take on.

But like the task of The Gunslinger chasing down his adversary, I have faith Howard will doggedly move forward until this project finally sees the dim light of a movie theater or even our home television screen.

One thing that didn't make sense to me, Howard mentioned he and his team hadn't realized how much media attention this project would be getting. Are you kidding me?

Ben Affleck responds to negative reactions to Batman casting

Ben Affleck has broken radio silence and finally commented on his role in the new Batman Vs. Superman film.

After what seems like a heavy amount of negative criticism Affleck appeared to be jovial and accepting of the fact that people were against his casting during an interview with Jimmy Falon last night.

Falon suggests that he go to Comic Con to maybe get the actors to warm up to him, however my thoughts are they might be waiting with torches and pitchforks at the airport for him.

One interesting comment he makes near the end is that this role is opening up a lot of opportunities for him. So does that mean that Warner Bros has locked him into a contract with a series of roles throughout the proposed Justice League films as well? We'll have to wait and see.

Sleepy Hollow: Destinies intertwined, fates revealed

Sleepy Hollow premiered Monday night on Fox, and this geek....was actually very impressed.

The story line had some meat to it, which I was surprised about because most of the teasers leading up to it had some garbage puns and silliness to them which felt like Fox was once again catering to the crowd that is constantly impressed with loud noises and flashy things (seriously throw on a show about a flashlight shaking around on a dark wall for 30 minutes once a week and keep the rest more quality and I won't complain Fox!).

I felt like Ichabod Crane had actually just broken out of the 1700's. Pretty amazing how that was pulled off, the actor made the character seem very real to me.

He is paired up with Abbie Mills, a deputy in the town of Sleepy Hollow with a sordid past.

Basically they are tasked with the duty to stop the coming for the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse.

I realized this was the story line when I was watching the teasers because it had been mentioned, however I thought it was going to be done in a cheeseball way, and has actually been put together pretty impressively.

My only 'whut' moment was when the Horseman grabbed a bunch of semi-automatic weapons and started going to town on the police force with them...that seemed a little unrealistic to me, plus come on, his signature weapon is an ax or sword.

Aside from this, apparently Orlando Jones is reviving his career with this series, and John Cho makes a cameo! Yay!

Pink Stars are....rising? Under The Dome Season 1 finale

First of all I just want to say I've already read a few reviews and I won't name any names but what a sorry sack of you-know-whats.

From people calling the series terrible with plot holes and an annoying cliffhanger, to someone bitching about Hollywood attempting to milk the original story for all its worth, it's clear to me why good and intelligent story lines and clever plot twists and cliffhangers are usually left hanging forever.

If things don't end with a happy ending everyone gets pissed, and of course we get negative reviews from critics who's heads were clearly inserted up their asses long ago (its the old adage, if people can find something to complain about they will).

Well suck it up princesses, welcome to the wonderful world of well thought out plot lines.

My one question if this show was so terrible why are you watching and not only watching it but, watching it until the season finale? Riddle me that one morons.

Anyways I will quit ranting about idiots who have no idea what makes good television these days and move onto my own review, which I'm sure you can tell will be favourable.

Despite some other entertainment sites claiming the series was full of plot holes, I found no such errors with this series.

The story line actually runs along quite smoothly, the dome comes down, everyone trapped inside either goes in the direction of following others for answers or realizing that the one who controls the resources controls the town.

And of course Big Jim Rennie shoots and maims his way to the top of that pile very quickly.

In the novel Big Jim actually does take over the town and frames Barbie for a number of murders that he himself committed.

And for a short while I wasn't sure if the series was going to go in that direction, but it quickly went there, and it couldn't have fit more perfectly. A once seemingly successful partnership, while very thin, between Big Jim and Barbie quickly turns sour when Barbie threatens to remove the throne from beneath Big Jim's mighty ass.

Barbie is used as a scapegoat in order for Big Jim to win favour with the people of the town and basically take over as its ruler and the only thing standing in his way is the possibility of the dome coming down.

So he terrorizes the kids who are working to protect the egg in the mini dome which they believe holds all the power of the dome itself.

And for some reason Linda loses all of her ballsiness that she had garnered after taking over as Sheriff and basically caters to all of Big Jim's lies....pretty terrible police deductions there Linda.

I think the most interesting piece of this finale was that it does in fact seem that aliens are involved in the appearance of the dome, but unlike the story line in the novel where the dome is meant as an ant farm type apparatus in order to amuse juvenile aliens, the being that communicates with Julia and the kids warns them that the dome was meant to protect them from something that hasn't happened or come yet.

So we already have our season two story line set up, what is this mysterious big bad thing that needs an entire missile-proof dome to protect these people from? And is it going to seal the fate of the rest of the world which lies unprotected?

Seems like more may be explained next season after Julia dropped the egg in the water to protect it which sent Pink Stars rising (instead of falling) into the sky which broke apart the darkness but caused a massive amount of light.

Meanwhile Barbie's fate is left in the hands of Junior Rennie who was seemingly about to pull the lever to release the platform on the guillotine Barbie is attached to, hanging Barbie.

I must admit the cliffhanger ending was frustrating, but I am not going to go as far as to say that the entire series is terrible and throw a big tantrum like a child in Toys R' Us who didn't get the toy he wanted.

This is television people, it has to remain lucrative and interesting. Wrapping everything up with a neat bow is not interesting or lucrative at all.

And just to note, Stephen King is writing the first episode of the second season, now call me crazy, but I can't think that King would have any involvement with the second series if he thought it was just going to be a piece of garbage meant as a cash grab by CBS. And for those of you who say he's in it for the money too, you've obviously never heard his thoughts on some other versions of his books adapted for TV and film.

Some 'Blurred Lines' in 'Gone Girl'

When it comes to anything by Gillian Flynn I am on board...I even have the copy of Gone Girl sitting happily on my desk at work.

So when TheWrap.com breaks casting news like model-actress Emily Ratajkowski, who appeared in Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' music video, will be playing a major role in 'Gone Girl' the film adaption, I'm not worried.

Why am I not worried?

Ben Affleck and David Fincher, that's why!

Fincher killed it in the adaption of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' (seriously I think it was better than the Finnish version, haters gonna hate!), and Affleck has seriously done a fantastic job in his recent dramas like Argo and The Town.

So knowing that Affleck will helm the lead role of Nick, and Fincher is helming the directors chair, I know that they both can only lead someone like Ratajkowski, who has very little acting experience, into a fantastic role.

Also my man NPH (Neil Patrick Harris) hits the big screen in this film as well!

By the way, she'll be playing the role of Andie, the mistress to Nick. 

'Gone Girl' follows the story of Nick Dunne, who comes home one day to find his wife Amy missing from their North Carthage home. As he desperately searches for her, the cops are hot on his heels believing he may be involved in her disappearance and possible death and Nick must deal with all of his secrets and lies slowly becoming unearthed.

Fantastic read and I highly suggest it and Flynn's other two books.

'Gone Girl' is slated to hit theaters in 2015 and stars Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Rosamund Pike.

And if you can't wait until 2015 to get some Flynn on film, Dark Places starring Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Christina Hendrick and Nick Hoults hits theaters next September in 2014.

Insidious Chapter 3 announced

One of the scariest films this side of Paranormal Activity is going to become a trilogy.

Insidious Chapter 2 has killed it in the box office in its first weekend with $40 million, and FilmDistrict, eOne and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisition are already announcing a third installment with Leigh Whannell signed on once again to write it.

A joint statement from the studio heads explains more:

"The release of the first 'Insidious' resonated with audiences around the world and quickly became one of the most talked about films in 2011. This weekend moviegoers enjoyed the terrifying continuation of the first film and we are confident they will be excited to see the third chapter of the 'Insidious' world. There is nobody better suited to bring audiences the next chapter of this haunting story than Leigh who has brilliantly written both 'Insidious' and 'Insidious Chapter 2.'"

Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, who produced the film, had this to say:

"FilmDistrict, eOne and SPWA have been incredible partners on the 'Insidious' franchise. We are all so grateful for how audiences embraced James Wan and Leigh's latest film and are excited to see what Leigh has in store for the third chapter.”

James Wan recently stated that Insidious 2 was his swan song to horror films as he moves into directing the Fast & Furious next chapter in the franchise, so the question is left, will he come back to direct the third installment as well?

Insidious Chapter 2 continues to follow  the Lambert family who have been tortured by horrific demons.

In this geek's personal opinion, Insidious was one of the scariest movies I have ever seen, and while I have not been graced with a chance to catch the second installment just yet (but very soon) from reviews so far I'm sure I won't be disappointed and I am definitely looking forward already to seeing a third installment.

Insidious Chapter 2 hit theaters on Friday the 13th and is now has one of the highest grossing amounts for an opening night for a horror film and one of the biggest opening gross amounts for any film in the month of September.

Companion series to The Walking Dead in development

Well Walking Dead fans (a.k.a everyone in the entire world with the exception ancient tribes living in Africa who still haven't learned the three wonderful letters A M and C) here comes some big news for  you all.

AMC is deep into the development process of a companion series (not spinoff...companion) to the #1 show worldwide 'The Walking Dead'.

 The network has announced that Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert will jump on the new series as executive producers.

Kirkman had this to say:

"After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn't be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of 'The Walking Dead' universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing."

AMC president and general manager Charlie Collier said this was an obvious move for the network.

"Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer. We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse.”

There is no word yet on what this companion series will focus on but there has been a lot of popularity around the companion game to the series created by Telltale games, so maybe producing that storyline into a series could be an option?

Either way you know we're definitely going to see some cross-overs between the two series for sure.

Justin Bieber...Robin? No...Idiot? Yes

So a lot of people are totally pissed since the picture of Justin Bieber surfaced on Twitter with him holding, what looks like, a copy of the new Batman/Superman film from Zack Snyder.

Well its been made pretty clear from various outlets around the internet that this is probably nothing more than a total hoax, more than likely perpetuated by the folks over at Funny Or Die, using Bieber as their 'prank monkey' (Let's say I make you my executive in charge of recreation).

Of course Bieber, being the fan-spitting, neighbour-punching, president-bashing, trouble-perpetuating little puke that he is, more than likely could not pass up an opportunity to ruin everyone's week (seriously America, you can keep him, Canada does not want him back). 

  The entire tease makes no sense. Why would they add Batman AND Robin into the mix to confuse the entire storyline even more? 

The folks over at Screen Rant also pointed out a few flaws in Bieber's pic. 

They noticed the script itself only looks to be about 20 pages or so, which is impossible, since a real script would at least be over 100 pages long, and they've also pointed out that film scrips given to cast members are generally printed on red paper. 


They added that Funny Or Die was also recently recording something in their studio this week. 

My point?

Justin Bieber has no prior acting history...and in my personal opinion no talent, beyond singing the same words over and over again which weren't even written by him in the first place.

And Zack Snyder is no idiot. 

I fully believe he had good reasoning to cast Ben Affleck as the role of Batman. I've stated before that Affleck has grown up as an actor, matured and shown a lot of potential in his latest films. 

While no one can seem to get over the Daredevil film which was filmed about a decade ago, we fail to point out that the director, writer and producers are the ones that created that world, Affleck just was temporarily living in it. 

Snyder is not going to cast a sociopath, narcissistic, young, ego-driven singer with no previous acting history and a host of red marks in his recent past with the media in one of the biggest films of 2015, which will try to be competing with Star Wars, Jurassic World, The Avengers 2 and quite a few others. 

Don't play into it folks, Bieber isn't worth it, and as much as I love Funny Or Die, I just don't this very funny. 

If by some ridiculous chance I am wrong and Bieber does get cast in this movie because Snyder, for some inexplicable reason, has decided to attract the audience of Twilight, I will be boycotting this film.
