What Media Steamers let you do is just that, they let you stream content over the internet like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and many many more. You can also play stored content from a HardDrive or Memory card with most models of Media Streamers.
The top 3 right now would be Apple TV, Roku, and WD TV Live, there are many more like Boxee TV and Netgear NeoTV. New to the market is Google's own Chrome TV which has become a very popular piece in the last couple of months, we've even seen a few Android based streamers like the Ouyo ( which is more of a came console) which lets you watch streaming shows as well.
What sets the Sony Vita TV apart is that they took the guts out of the Handheld Vita system and put it into a small form fillting box that lets you watch all your favorite Netflix movies but.....and here's the kicker, you can play most of your PS Vita games on the system too. Not just the new Vita games but your favorite games from years past, you see the Vita can play your favorite PSP games and Playstation one (classic) games via a download from the Playstaion Network Store.
The tiny box can be used as an extender for PlayStation 4 games, letting you play them on another TV screen if the one connected to the PS4 is occupied, and will also act as a second Vita system to enable ad-hoc multiplayer gaming with the portable console. Not all PS VITA games will be supported, however, since the DualShock 3 controller lacks the Vita's touch-sensitive hardware required by certain software titles.
The Vita TV will come in at around 9,480 yen, or around $95.00 and should be availble in Japan first on November 14th and the rest of the world to follow shortly after. There will also be a bundle that comes with a DualShock 3 controller and 8GB memory card, it will sell for 14,280 yen or around $143.00.
I can't wait, I love my Vita and would love to see some Vita and classic PS games on the big screen.

‘Uncharted’ Movie Will Hit First, Followed By ‘Metal Gear Solid’ and ‘Mass Effect’ - Slash Film
A ton of major video games are currently being developed in Hollywood. Just recently,Watch Dogs got started, we saw test footage from Warcraft and heard about Gran Turismo coming to life. Looking back further, games based on Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid and Mass Effect have been bubbling for several years. However, despite a few close calls, it doesn’t feel like any of them are closer to coming to the big screen.
That’s not the case, says producer Avi Arad. The man best known for producing theSpider-Man movies also has a big hand in producing those last three franchises. In a new interview, he offered up significant updates on them all. He says Uncharted will probably come first and that Metal Gear Solid is probably three years away. Thoughhe’s had the Mass Effect rights since 2008, that one would likely come after the first two.
First up, Uncharted:
I think Uncharted will be very successful. It’s a father and son game. There are things about it that are interesting. I think the world of antiquities theft, there are many countries in the world that realized they’re being robbed and they’re trying to recoup these important pieces. Now, the script has a lot of character [and] I think that has a shot at being the first one [to succeed].
In regards to Metal Gear Solid, Kotaku reported “the movie is still in its very early stages and [Arad] expects it to be about three years or more away, explaining that negotiations between studios and companies take a lot of time.”
Finally, Mass Effect might be five to six years away because it’s a very complicated transition:
It’s a big idea, that we, humans, are the least developed, the least trusted, it’s an interesting mirror image of our world, we are the aliens now. Love the project, it’s getting there, it’s been a lot of work; some movies take five, six years before they’re ready.
It’s definitely good to hear work is still progressing on these three films, though I’m not 100% sold on Arad’s timeline. These are major franchises with potential to make multiple films. If they haven’t rushed them out already, there’s no reason to start now. One year, three years and five years, which is suggested, seems optimistic.

We’re all still feeling shockwaves on the news that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the Man of Steel follow-up Batman Vs. Superman. But still it’s business as usual in Hollywood, and as Affleck’s committed to one film, another is falling to the wayside. Deadline reports the newly minted Dark Knight is dropping out of adapting Stephen King’s The Stand, and Crazy Hearthelmer Scott Cooper is stepping in to take his place. This could prove a career-defining moment for the emerging director, as Warner Bros and CBS Films are grooming the pic to be a tent pole release that could be the start of a trilogy franchise. This plan makes considerable sense since the last adaptation of The Stand was a 1994 mini-series that clocked in at 366 minutes.
A must watch short film 'Contre Temps'
This is one of the most gorgeous films , short or otherwise that I have ever seen. It comes from directors Jérémi Boutelet, Thibaud Clergue, Tristan Ménard, Camille Perrin, Gaël Megherbi, and Lucas Veber as their graduation film. 'Ong-Bak' Star Tony Jaa Joins 'Fast & Furious 7'

Another ass kicking actor has joined the cast of Fast & Furious 7, currently fast-tracked at Universal and preparing to shoot later this year under the direction of James Wan (who also directed this year's horror films The Conjuring and Insidious: Chapter 2). THR is reporting that Thai martial arts actorTony Jaa, who starred in the Ong Bak series of films, is the latest to join the cast of Fast & Furious 7. His exact role is unknown as the "script is still being being written by longtime franchise player Chris Morgan" and plot specifics are being kept a secret. Though we know Jason Statham is being carried over from the last one.
