Star Wars: The Clone Wars will have a season 6

Nerdgasms across the globe went off today as Dave Filoni, Supervising Director on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, announced via Facebook that season six would be released!

That's right Clone Wars fans 22 steaming hot off the press episodes which will wrap up the Ahsoka Tano story-arc and finally move Anakin into position to fit into the final moments of his life as a Jedi in 'Revenge of the Sith'.

Also we'll finally get to see more of the story surrounding that awesome teaser scene that was shown to us where one of the Clones suddenly taps into his sleeper agent orders and guns down a Jedi. 

Here was what Filoni had to say:

"Star Wars fans - I have some exciting news! We have wrapped production on all of the remaining Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, and while that might be sad news in one way, it's good news in another. It means you will finally get to see them. When, exactly, is a detail I cannot yet share. I can confirm that in early 2014 you will be watching the final episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, including one of Master Yoda's most challenging missions. So, get ready. We've got Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels coming at you in 2014. Animated Star Wars is alive and well. Trust in the Force my friends.

So there you have it Clone Wars fans, we will finally get to see our beloved series come to the proper close that it fully deserves. It seems that Disney is not the power-hungry, nasty tyrant that we once thought it was.

...okay it still is all that stuff, but CLONE WARS!

No word yet on whether the final season will be broadcast on Disney XD or released via streaming online, but either way we will be seeing it in 2014.

Also we'll have Star Wars Rebels to look forward to keep us all entertained until the much awaited Episode VII hits theaters in 2015.
