Summer 2013 hit some box office peaks

By: James Bowler

This has been the biggest season of summer hits in history...but it won't hold a candle to 2015.

But until then the LA Times has released a graph of the top movies that were released this summer and their overall numbers in the Box Office.

The report shows that between May and the Labour Day Weekend the domestic revenue is $4.71 billion which is 8% higher than last year and the highest of all time.

No surprises here Iron Man 3 tops the list.

So this is pretty impressive, with the majority of high-grossing movies being reboots and sequels.

But guaranteed 2014 and especially 2015 will knock these records out of the water. Let's hope there's no downturn.
