Following the rumors yesterday about Benedict Cumberbatch being cast in the new Star Wars film coming up, new rumors state that Cumberbatch may be playing a powerful Sith Lord and possibly the main antagonist in the film.
Badass Digest has claimed that Cumberbatch will be playing a major villainous role in the film which more than likely will be a powerful Sith Warrior.
As I mentioned in my previous article on this rumor, this is not a totally far-fetched idea after Abrams used Cumberbatch as the famed villain in the Star Trek universe Khan.
Cumberbatch definitely has the acting capability to pull off such a role, and I reiterate, how badass would it be to see him with Sith robes and a red light sabre.
Luckily for us Star Wars fans, Disney execs have been clear they want to avoid the general Abrams mystery box way of thinking when it comes to the next film, and be semi-open about news surrounding the film to help build the hype.
We also know that Abrams is usually very keen on working with actors that have had a successful run with him in the past.
So hopefully we'll hear some verification from Lucasfilm on these rumors, until then, let the speculation and wild rumors continue...oh and the photoshopping of Cumberbatch with light sabres I love those!
