Westworld headed for HBO...with two persons of interest

By: James Bowler

J.J. Abrams how busy can you get man? You've got Star Wars, your new book, your current running series Person of Interest and now  you're taking on Westworld...as a series!

Yeah you heard right, Michael Crichton's Westworld is getting another remake, but on the small screen.
. So Person of Interest show runner Jonathan Nolan will be once again joining Abram on the project.

Nolan has already co-written scripts for The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and his older brother Christopher's newest upcoming film, Interstellar.

You know that network that recently told True Blood to hit the bricks after it's seventh season, yeah HBO? They're the one's ordering the pilot from these two beauties. And this is sort of an unusual theme for HBO, science fiction series tend to be ordered by SyFy. But HBO is certainly not a network to balk about when taking on a project like this.

To say I'm excited about Abrams taking on a Crichton project is probably an understatement. I'm sad that Crichton is not alive to day to help write the script for the series, but I know Abrams and especially Nolan will handle it with kid gloves.

So let's keep our collective breathes held while HBO execs review this pilot, and hope they order a series out of it, but with these two helming it, I'm sure there's no doubt Westworld will be hitting HBO very soon, hopefully by the 2015 season!
