Wii u's Wonderful 101 or Wii u's Blunderful 101?

The soon to be released Wii u title 'Wonderful 101' is getting mixed reviews. Already available in Japan and the UK it has tanked in sales with mostly favorable scores of  79/100. After all the marketing Nintendo did on this game, even hosting a Nintendo direct video just for this game it still doesn't add up.

So what went wrong? Recent reports say Nintendo originally wanted to have the game host a 100 all star Nintendo character cast such as Mario, and Donkey Kong but later changed their mind saying they wanted this to be an original and new title, um hello?!  Having all the Nintendo characters unite under one title to fight aliens isn't a big seller to you? It certainly would be a title we haven't seen other than Smash Bros. featuring 30 some characters compared to a whooping 100.

What were they thinking?  This would have been the biggest badass title ever released in history!  Just think, you could have sold more Wii u's than  Sony and Microsoft . Fans would have even bowed down to this might, instead we get characters like Wonder beer and Wonder kung-fu ...lame.  I  had a chance to download the demo and give it a go, while the game is fun and totally new, it takes awhile to get the hang of and when you do, there's something new to learn.  It's more of a 'brain game' trying to  keep  track of 100 characters' powers and interacting with the surroundings not to mention having to choose the right power for each boss.

I will give them credit, it's cool how you can draw lines on the gamepad and it turns into the power you want, but still a lot of work for a game.  I guess we'll see when it comes out in north America Sept. 15th.

I might just have a change of heart when I get my hands on the full game and able to but some more time into it. Oh, and in-case you were wondering why it's called 'Wonderful 101' when there are only 100 characters?....It's because the extra character is ....YOU!
