Negative reviews pour in against Batman casting news

By: James Bowler

Since the very recent announcement that Ben Affleck would play the caped crusader in the newest Man of Steel installment, there have been quite a few negative reactions to this casting news.

On one Facebook page dedicated to the actor many of the comments portray a sordid dislike for the actor and the idea of him taking on the role of such a character.

'PLEASE GO KILL YOUR SELF BEFORE YOU KILL BATMAN FOR ALL THE FANS WHO LOVE BATMAN YOU WILL BE MISSED BUT BATMAN WILL LIVE ON'

'DO ME A BIG FAVOR AND STAY THE F--- OUT OF BATMAN YOU BUTT FACED A------YOU SUCKED DICK AS DAREDEVIL, I WILL NOT LET YOU RUIN MY FAVORITE SUPER HERO YOU DICK'

'Dude, do the Batman fans a favor, get the F--- out of here, period... Youre great in Crime/Mafia dramas but F--- NO AS BATMAN. You couldn't even pull of Daredevil well, and hes NOT EVEN KNOWN WELL as a superhero...'

'You're not Batman material, now I can skip the new Superman movie. Thanks for ruining Batman more than bat nipples ever did.'

These were just a few of the comments left on that page, and there are many others across Facebook and Twitter saying the same type of thing.

Although not all comments have been negative.

'Hey, a lot of people did not think that Daniel Craig would make a good James Bond. What did he do? According to the critics, he has done an awesome job! More than that, he is the only Bond who helped to bring in a billion dollars for the Bond franchise.'

Personally the first thought that came to my mind was he would become another George Clooney version of the character. However I remembered how well he has done lately with Argo, and other films, and with the right director comes the right acting.

People tend to forget it's a two way street, its not just the actor but also the director that dictate how a character is conveyed in a film.

But I will hold most of my opinions on this until I actually see the film, or at least a trailer.

We will have to see how the studio plans to deal with all of this negative attention and if Affleck will make an announcement soon on his newest film.

So what do you think? Has Ben Affleck grown as an actor since his time as Daredevil and will his Oscar Award winning experience with Argo make a great Batman? Or does he have no hope whatsoever.
