Bryan Cranston has been many things in his years as an actor, including voicing two villains in the original Power Rangers series.
But could he possibly play the most well-known villain in the history of all comic book characters?
A recent chat with Metro suggested that Cranston is very interested in the bald powerhouse who manages to somehow take down a guy who can lift an entire freaking building with nothing but little green rocks and super-intelligent evil plans he concocts while twirling his moustache (seriously Lex needs a twirly black moustache to make up for the lack of hair on top).
Cranston had this to say during the interview:
I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man...
Sweet and loveable? Well I never considered comparing Lex Luthor to a teddy bear but this is coming from a guy who played a man that found notorious and disturbing ways to kill people in order to keep his drug business running strong. Also he played a father two three maniacal boys...parenthood changes a man...in this case for the worse.
However Cranston joked during the interview that his wife might be the only thing holding him back from taking the role:
The bald head ages a man. It’s just that she didn’t know me that way, and the last six years it’s all of a sudden like sleeping with a stranger — who was less exciting than her own husband.
Maybe he can wear a bald cap instead to pacify his wife?
Personally I think he definitely has the devious look and character development from ‘Breaking Bad’.
He probably pulled a lot of his acting style from playing a giant mutant snake fighting teenagers in spandex and motorcycle helmets for that one.
Either way he’s going to have a lot more free time after finishing up the final season of ‘Breaking Bad’.
If he does play Lex Luthor he definitely needs to somehow revive the line “Curse you and your power bow!”
What do you think? Should Cranston play Lex Luthor? If not who do you think could fill the role of the megalomaniac? Let us know in the comments below.
