Biblical-based films have a tendency to go either one direction of the other (Passion of the Christ, need I say more?)
But director Darren Aronofsky’s newest upcoming film ‘Noah’ looks like it has the potential to be an Oscar contender to say the least.
Also he’s already had some experience at having Oscar contenders in the past.
New pics from the Icelandic set have been released showing Jennifer Connelly as Noah's wife Naameh and Sir Anthony
Hopkins as his grandfather Methuselah.
Russel Crowe will be playing Noah in the film.
The images already are showing a dark and ominous tone which
the film will clearly take with a director like Aronofsky who has directed such
films as ‘Requiem For A Dream’, ‘The Wrestler’ and ‘Black Swan’.
The director has indicated in past interviews that the film
will focus largely on man’s battle against nature as Noah battles with a voice,
whom he believes is God, telling him to prepare for a flood of epic proportions
coming to wipe out the land.
So check out the photos below and tell us what you think?
Will Aronofsky pull off another Oscar contender or is this film headed for the
likes of Mel Gibson’s career (he’s playing a villain in The Expendables 3…again,
enough said).
