So earlier I reported on the strange trailer that appeared
from the J.J. Abrams mystery box labeled ‘Stranger’.
Well it looks like Bleeding Cool may have cracked the
mystery on what this teaser was for, and for me it was my worst prediction.
The teaser is assumedly pointing towards Abrams newest conquest,
a novel, which has been collaborated with author Doug Dourst titled ‘S.’.
A writer from Bleeding Cool noticed the similarities between
the text on a promotional post card for the book uploaded to The Huffington
Post and the text used at the end of the teaser.
Other similarities to notice are the use of the letter S.
The title of the short teaser ‘Stranger’, the word ‘Soon’
being left as the last one visible at the end of the trailer.
It all seems to point to the novel.
For me this is frustrating because, as much as I am looking
forward to reading this, I’m sure many of you are on the same page with me when
you were hoping that this was leading into some epic movie or even a TV series.
Using a live action teaser to promote a book seems kind of
redundant, but I suppose it’s the only way Abrams knows how.
The guys over at Cinema Blend went as far as to pull the
synopsis from the book which is on Amazon available for pre-order.
You can check that out and pre-order your copy here.
Expect more viral campaigning as well before the book is
released on October 29th.
