If you haven't seen Gareth Edwards' Monsters you have missed out on one hell of a film. The fairly fresh director hit the indie film circuit hard with his epic tale of alien life taking over our planet in the form of giant human-hungry creatures.
Edwards has since moved onto bigger projects (i.e. Godzilla), but in his place another director, Tom Green, is making his debut with the second film Monsters: The Dark Continent.
While the first film was set in Mexico where the largest of the 'Infected Zones' had set up, this film will be focused on 'Infected Zones' overseas.
The story will follow a soldier sent with his platoon to take out a rogue military operative in the heart of monster territory and take him out.
He is cut off from his group and left with a young inexperienced soldier, who just happens to be the target's younger brother, and a strange woman to guide them through the 'Infected Zone'.
It appears that, much like Monsters, this film will tackle controversial issues like military power and war in the undertones of soldiers fighting monsters.
